Full Stack Developer in Sri Lanka: What the Engagement Should Include

A full stack developer in Sri Lanka should own the interface, API, database and deployment. Here is how XLOXI scopes that work from our Vavuniya base.

Full Stack Developer in Sri Lanka: What the Engagement Should Include

A search for a full stack developer in Sri Lanka usually means the business has outgrown a brochure site. You need software: a screen people use, an API behind it, a database, and a place it stays online after the invoice is paid.

XLOXI PVT LTD does that work from our office in Vavuniya and delivers it remotely for clients elsewhere in Sri Lanka. This guide is the scope we expect before anyone calls a project full stack.

Full stack is four jobs, not one slogan

  • Interface. The screens staff or customers actually use, checked on a phone, a tablet and a desktop.
  • API. Who can see a record, what happens when they save, and how an error returns.
  • Data. Tables, files and permissions. If two people edit the same order, the system has to decide who wins.
  • Release. A staging link, a production URL, backups, and a note your team can follow without us on a call.

A theme tweak or a landing page is not this project. A modern marketing site belongs on website development. A sales tool, a customer portal or an internal dashboard is software, and it belongs on full stack development.

What Sri Lankan teams usually need first

The first version is rarely a public SaaS product. It is usually one of these:

  • An order desk staff use instead of a shared spreadsheet
  • A customer login that shows their own prices, invoices or job status
  • A dashboard a manager can export without asking someone to copy rows
  • A product that will later take payments, but only after the workflow is real

When the stack fits, we use React or Next.js on the front and Node.js with PostgreSQL or Supabase on the back. We confirm that in discovery. We do not force the same template onto every product.

What we write down before building

The expensive mistakes are missing rules, not missing colours. Before development starts we write three things: the users, the records, and the one action that must never fail. For a Sri Lankan company that action is often an order, an invoice or a stock movement. Invoice fields are the ones your accountant confirms. We do not invent tax rules.

Remote delivery does not change that document. Clients in Colombo, Kandy, Galle and Jaffna review the same staging link. Our only office is in Vavuniya. We do not list other cities as offices.

How the engagement runs

  1. You send who logs in and which records they change.
  2. We reply with the version-one screens and what is explicitly later.
  3. You review staging on a phone and on a desktop before anything is called live.
  4. The repository and hosting access stay in your company name.
  5. The next change is a small scope, not a new project that starts from zero.

If the real job is connecting Shopify, a marketplace or an accounts package, start with API integration in Sri Lanka instead of a new application. If the current site only needs a repair or a new layout, read website redesign and maintenance.

After launch

Full stack work is not finished when the first login works. You need a way to add a field, fix a bug, and see who changed a record. We can stay on a maintenance scope when you want the same team for the next change. A login that nobody can update becomes a risk the month Shopify, a payment provider or your own process changes.

Send the users and the records through the quote form.

Questions we hear

Is a full stack developer the same as a website company?

No. A website company builds the pages customers read. A full stack engagement builds the tool staff or customers log into. If you only need a new look, use website development. If you need records, permissions and a database, use the software page.

Can you work with a team outside Vavuniya?

Yes. Reviews happen on a staging link. The company office is in Vavuniya, Northern Province. Other districts are remote clients, not extra offices.

Do you keep the code?

The repository and the hosting access are put in your company name as part of handover. A project you cannot deploy without us is not finished.

Should the first version include every report?

No. Version one is the screen and the action that must not fail. Extra reports wait until people are using the first workflow. That is how the quote stays honest.
