API Integration in Sri Lanka: Shopify, Marketplaces, Inventory and Invoices

How Sri Lankan businesses connect Shopify with Amazon, eBay, inventory and invoicing. The fields we implement are the ones your accountant confirms.

API Integration in Sri Lanka: Shopify, Marketplaces, Inventory and Invoices

API integration in Sri Lanka is the work of making two systems agree. A Shopify order should reduce the same stock your warehouse sees. A marketplace sale should not create a second product by accident. An invoice should carry the fields your accountant already files, not a template copied from another country.

XLOXI PVT LTD builds those connections for Shopify stores and for custom software. We work from Vavuniya and deliver remotely. The service page is API integration in Sri Lanka.

Connections Sri Lankan merchants actually ask for

  • Shopify and a sales channel. Amazon or eBay only where the seller account and the Shopify plan allow it. We do not promise a channel the marketplace has not opened for your account.
  • Inventory. One quantity, updated when either side sells. The design has to say what happens if both sell the last unit in the same minute.
  • Invoicing. The line items are whatever your accountant confirms for that country. We implement those fields. We do not claim the invoice is automatically compliant.
  • Payments and couriers. Status has to return to the order. A PayHere payment that never updates Shopify looks like a lost order to your team.
  • A system you already run. An accounts package, a warehouse sheet, or a custom app. The integration follows that system. It does not replace it on day one.

What a serious integration includes

A working demo on one order is not an integration. The scope we write includes four checks:

  1. Field map. Which Shopify field becomes which field on the other side, including the ones that must stay blank.
  2. Retries. What happens when the other system is down for ten minutes.
  3. Duplicates. The same order must not create two invoices because a webhook fired twice.
  4. A log. Staff can see the last failure without opening a developer console.

We test with a small catalogue on staging, then turn on the live keys. Credentials stay in your accounts. We do not store payment secrets in a ticket or an email.

When not to integrate yet

If you have not sold the product by hand, an API will automate a process you have not proved. Run real orders, write the exceptions, then connect the systems. That costs less than a sync for a catalogue that still changes every day.

A brand-new Shopify store should be sellable first. Store setup stays on Shopify store setup. A workflow that no public app covers is a custom app, not a one-off script. A product your own staff log into is full stack software.

What to send with the quote

Name the two systems, who owns the stock, and which document your accountant already accepts. A screenshot of one real order is more useful than a feature list. Use the quote form and say whether the connection is for Sri Lanka checkout, a marketplace, or an internal tool.

Questions we hear

Can you connect Shopify to Amazon or eBay from Sri Lanka?

Only when your seller account and your Shopify plan already allow that channel. We connect what the API permits. We do not open a marketplace account the platform has not approved.

Will the invoice be legally compliant?

We implement the fields your accountant confirms for that country. We do not replace an accountant, and we do not claim an invoice is compliant because a template was copied from another market.

Who holds the API keys?

You do. Keys stay in your Shopify, marketplace or accounts account. Handover includes where they live and who can rotate them.

Is a Zapier-style tool enough?

Sometimes, for a low volume and a simple field copy. It is not enough when stock can oversell, a webhook can double, or a failed payment has to be visible on the order. That is when a proper integration is the job.
