Shopify custom app development in Sri Lanka starts when the store’s real process does not fit a public app. Wholesale approval, a document your accountant expects, or a discount rule past Shopify’s standard limits are software problems. Another theme section will not solve them.
XLOXI PVT LTD builds private apps for merchants and also publishes apps you can install before you hire us. The service page is Shopify custom apps in Sri Lanka.
Start with an app that already exists
If one of those already matches the job, installing it is the faster path. A custom app is justified when the rule is yours alone: a price list from your own system, a document layout your customers already know, or a step no App Store product covers without a pile of other apps.
What a custom app project includes
- A written flow: who clicks, which Shopify object changes, and what staff see if it fails.
- Access only through the Shopify APIs your shop is allowed to use.
- A test on a staging store before the live shop gets the app.
- A note on who updates the app when Shopify changes an API.
We do not store your admin token in email. The app is installed on your store. Source can sit in your repository when that is part of the scope. The same care applies if the app also has to talk to another system. That connection is scoped as API integration, not as an extra hidden in the theme.
Maintenance is part of the decision
An app that nobody updates becomes a checkout risk. Budget a small monthly scope, or accept that a future Shopify change may need a paid fix. That conversation is cheaper than discovering the failure on a Friday when orders stop.
Wholesale approval is also covered on Shopify B2B and in the guide to B2B, B2C and D2C. Tell us the workflow the public apps cannot do when you ask for a quote.
Questions we hear
Should we build a private app or install Offrefy, Approvefy or Billoxi?
Install the published app when its workflow matches. Build a private app when the rule, the document or the price source is specific to your business and no public app covers it without several others stacked on top.
Can the app run only on our store?
Yes. A custom app is installed on your shop. It does not have to be listed on the Shopify App Store unless you later decide to sell it to other merchants.
Who maintains it after launch?
Someone has to. That can be a small monthly scope with us, or your own developer with the repository. An unowned app is a checkout risk the next time Shopify changes an API.
Is a theme edit enough?
A theme edit changes how a page looks. An app changes a Shopify object: a price, a customer approval, a document, or an order. If the brief is visual, use theme customization. If the brief changes store data, it is an app.
